120. William Turner

William Turner was born between 1738 and 1750 at probably NC. He married Sarah 'Sally' Denney, probable daughter of Benjamin Denny, circa 1764 at probably NC. Samuel Paschal registered 827 acted in Granville Co, NC, on both sides of Jefferson"s Road on the waters on Nutbush and Deep Creeks; bordering William Turner and including improvements of Thomas Key and others on 24 September 1778. William Turner was listed on the 1816 Roane Co. tax list living on Caney Creek with 44 acres and 0 polls in 1816. He died in 1828 at Roane Co., TN. Family history reports that his tombstone had the Turner coat of arms enscribed.

122. Nathaniel Hicks
Nathaniel Hicks was born between 1750 and 1760. He was reported to be a veteran of the Revolutionary War although no records of his service records have been found to date. A land warrant was issued to hin in 1784 and may be for service during the War. He married Elizabeth Bratcher. "John Houston, Esq, Gov. of GA, grants to Nathaniel Hicks Junr. 747 1/2 acrs in Washington Co bounded NW by Ambrose Jones, al other sides vacant land, on Bounty. signed J. Houston. Warrant dated 17 May 1784. 7471/2 acres surveyed for Nathaniel Hicks Junr, in Washington Co, on waters of Ricdland Creek bounded NW by Ambrose Jones. Surveyed 6 June 1784 and certified by Joseph Pannel, Esq."Survey registered Lib A Folio 402, Nov 12, 1785. Reg in Greene Co 12 Aug 1790 on 18 September 1784. He was granted a land deed for 107 acres purchased in Franklin Co, GA (his name is Hix on this document) in 1805. He was listed in Franklin Co, GA, p. 31 in 1807. He was listed in Franklin Co, GA p. 17 in 1811. The will of Richard Woods of Franklin Co, GA refers to his land 'adjoining Nathaniel Hicks' in 1816. He was listed in Franklin Co, GA, p 26 in 1819. he wrote his will in Franklin Co, GA on 4 June 1819.
